Have you ever carved a heart or the name of someone that you had a crush on into a tree or bench before?
I was in 7th grade…it was a tree…her name was Nikki. Those were the days.
I didn’t carve the heart into this bench, but when I saw the engraving I was brought back…way back…back into time.

um, i have a confession...

I really, REALLY don't like hearts.
I think that they are possibly the most corney and overrated shape that ever came into existence...really. Picture this, I'm in 2nd grade, and I watch the girl next to me draw little hearts over her "i"s....just think of the expression on my little 2nd grade face. Man, even back then I just didn't understand it. And then she told me that purple was the first color of the rainbow and I told her that its all lies, and that RED was the first color.
We debated for quite some time...and I still won't back down. freakings hearts.
I think I played pirates with the boys though...does that count?
ps. I did like the photo though ;)
